IBM Centennial Film: Wild Ducks

My company HiFi 3D provided the 3d animation for this IBM documentary. I acted as a producer for HiFi, modeller, and did many other little jobs along the way.

Our sequences occur at these times : 0:00, 3:45, 6:50, 10:05, 13:46.

Pop Tarts Dancer 2

Here's a fun spot I worked on at PandaPanther. I modeled all of the characters.

EA Need For Speed at E3 2010

Here is a trailer I worked on for EA's Need For Speed- Hot Pursuit. I was responsible for remodelling all of the car models for the close up shots, and I also designed and modeled the "spike-box" that appears at about 1:30. You may want to skip the first 30 seconds.

Alaska Nanooks 2010 Intro video

Here is the Alaska Nanooks Intro Video that I co-directed with Szymon Weglarski at HiFi 3D. It's getting pretty popular (with over 400,000 views so far!) and was featured on G4's Attack of the Show, CollegeHumor.com, Best Week Ever, AdFreak, Gizmodo, The Daily What, and the blogs of two of my favorite comedians, Aziz Ansari and Paul Scheer.

I was interviewed by Motionographer and the sports blog WithLeather. The video was the focus of an article by The Detroit News, which also did a full interview with me and Szymon.

Gingerbreed FX breakdown

Here is a short video showing some of the fx techniques we are using in Gingerbreed, a film that I am co-directing with Szymon Weglarski. I designed and modeled the digital environment, as well as lots of other things.

fun HP toon-shaded spots!

Here are two spots I worked on at Brand New School. I modeled, textured, and toon-shaded all of the 3D elements, including the guitars, the station wagon, the polaroid camera, the molecules, test tubes, the graduation cap, the chompy cherries, the DNA, the globe, etc.

New Pop Tarts Spot

Here is a new Pop-Tarts spot that I worked on at PandaPanther. I modeled both moms, set up the cloth-simulation for the moms dress, and modeled most of the 2 kids. Check out their site for an awesome "Making of" video.

New stills from Gingerbreed

Here are two stills from the film "Gingerbreed" which I am currently working on. I designed and modeled the entire digital set, which was textured, lit, and composited by my co-director, Szymon Weglarski.

Pop Tarts spot

Pop Tarts Stand from jon dorfman on Vimeo.

Here is one of the Pop Tarts spots that I worked on at PandaPanther. I modeled the mom and dog completely, and most of the clothing+blendshapes for all of the characters. I also modeled/rigged/textured/ncloth-sim'd the umbrella, and modeled lots of other props and accessories. I think it turned out great.

Book Jacket Photography

Here are 3 book covers that I shot for Simon & Schuster with designer Lucy Ruth Cummins. They all involved a lot of compositing and re-lighting.

Fun Fact: The filth on Lucy's arms on the Demon Queen cover is actually a mixture of soy sauce and potting soil!

leather Bench WIP

Here is a WIP model of a leather bench that I am making for Gingerbreed. It's all made with normal maps, and is very lo rez. There is still some bad tesselation, and intersecting geometry, but I am pretty happy with it so far.

Microscope

Here's a microscope that I designed and modeled for "Gingerbreed." After some extensive bugging by me, Szymon Weglarski developed our anisotropic reflection shader, which is why the brushed metal knobs have radial highlights. Yay for radial highlights!

Superbowl Scarecrow spot

Here's a Superbowl spot I just worked on at Framestore. I modeled most of the 3D environment. Lots of rivets.

Here's LBR-7, a robot I designed/modeled/lit for "Gingerbreed." Still needs texturing and final shaders, but over all, I am pretty happy with it.
